Summary:
In Cloud Recesses, Lan Wangji tells his great uncle that he's sent a rescue mission for Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli- so far, they've only found Yanli alive.
Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng hide out for a short time before Jiang Cheng is captured and taken back to Lotus Pier. Wei Wuxian rescues him and hides out with Wen Ning. Wen Ning's sister, Wen Qing, is reluctant to harbor them at first, but eventually takes care of the whip marks on Wei Wuxian's back. Jiang Cheng wakes and mentions that his golden core was destroyed by Wen Zhuliu, thus crushing his dreams of revenge. Wei Wuxian makes plans to get the golden core back.
