Jo Kwon (2AM) - I'm Da One (feat. Zion-T)
About:
Plot:
- Cool king Jo Kwon wakes up to sing and dance his way to the throne. You can tell he's in charge because he has two future members of BTS (J-Hope and Jungkook) as his backup dancers. Along the way, he snubs his evil advisor and his two sexy henchmen (Jin and V). Jo Kwon notices people starving outside his castle and is perplexed.
During the night, his evil advisor tosses him out into the rabble. One of the bodyguards *and* homeless denizens is Suga, who is presumably not playing the exact same character, although that would be a great twist. If you're keeping track, this video now has five-sevenths of current day BTS in it, which is pretty impressive before you realize that both pdogg and Hitman Bang are the songs creators.
While Jo Kwon achieves enlightenment in an all white room, the sexy evil henchmen allows cobwebs to grow on the throne and everyone collapses in starving heaps. Heavy is the head that wears the crown. Jo Kwon brings branded water to the masses (er, thanks?! Food and shelter would also be nice), reclaims his throne easily and offers champagne to everyone (wow. Food would also be nice). Problem solved!
Notes:
- I'd like to think this is a scathing indictment of pop stars who believe singing and dancing will save the world from homelessness and starvation ("Say my name, then you'll be happy every day"), but it's probably just an opportunity to have a fairy tale theme video. Fair enough, Hitman Bang. Fair enough.
- Text in the fairytale book: "Once upon a time there was a king of a kingdom. He was loved by his people and all his people loved him. But the king did not know of how hungry the people who lived outside his palace. He only had time to sing and dance with subordinants and people who lived within The palace. And then one day... The Tale of JoKwon"
- Since we know Jo Kwon will later make a smashing great King Herod in Jesus Christ Superstar, I'm not sure it's such a great idea that he took the throne back
- J-Hope features prominently in JoKwon's excellent song, Animal
- MVP: The evil advisor and his pocket watch. Any grown man who wears that much black eyeliner, keeps Jin & V as his evil henchmen and plots to take over the throne is AOK in my book.
