Summary:
The Juniors lament the tragic death of A-Qing and Xiao Xingchen as they burn paper money. Wei Wuxian asks Lan Wangji if he burned joss paper for him after he was dead, and Wangji answers "No need." Wei Wuxian asks the Juniors about the cat corpses and they mention that the next place to go would be Yunming. At Yunping City, they meet up with Fairy and Apple, who are furiously engaged in battle. More cat corpses are found around Guanyin Temple, where Wei Wuxian has a vision of a beautiful dancing woman. Outside Guanyin Temple, they run into children reinacting the Sunshot Campaign. Lan Wangji comforts the tiny "Yiling Laotzu" when the older kids beat him up. At a tavern later, Wei Wuxian accidentally gets Lan Wangji drunk. Wangji passes out, and Wuxian meets up with Wen Ning. Wangji joins them, shoves Wen Ning away and gives Wei Ying all the gifts he's stored in his sleeves, sternly telling him that joss paper is for the dead. They sit on the roof to drink and spar, and foil a handful of goons who attack them.
