Summary:
Jiang Cheng shows up and starts attacking Wen Ning. Wei Wuxian sends the Ghost General away and Jiang Cheng, with Jin Ling, follow. When everyone has gone, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji unearth the corpses and find one pierced with Frostwork, a blade belonging to Xiao Xingchen. Lan Wangji explains that he was a disciple of Baoshan Sanren and was a force of good.Back at Cloud Recesses, the possessed arm escapes. Jin Guangyao (who was dismayed to find that Wei Wuxian dismantled the wards at Phoenix Mountain so easily) and Lan Xichen trace its movements to Qinghe. Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji also figure out that they need to head to Traverse Hill (also called Man-Eating Hill) in Qinghe, deep in Nie Huisang's realm.
Jin Ling shows up in Qinghe with his dog, Fairy, that scares Wei Wuxian. Wei Wuxian explains to Lan Wangji that he was attacked by hungry dogs when he was a kid, homeless on the streets. They continue to Man-Eating Hill, with Nie Huisang lurking behind a fan behind them.
